My dear friend Paola has been in my life for some 7 years but I never knew her in a professional capacity until 2008 when I felt hopelessness in several areas of my life; very left behind at 35 and reeling. I used to wonder if I would ever achieve my goals of emigrating from the UK and to feel settled; as life events had always made me veer off track, leaving me knocked for six and seemingly forever chasing my tail.
Whilst she has no magic wand to wave, Paola has helped me look at things with perspective; recognize what I have achieved, the things I will achieve if I commit, and to enjoy the journey. She listens, assesses, supports and remarkably never sees anything as a problem that can't be overcome.
As a result, I feel focused. Why shouldn't I aim high?
