Do you find yourself reacting at life? You know things just happen and you just do. You need to organize the meals, shopping, activities for the family, plus you have work you need to bring home plus organize holidays, prepare meals in advance. You are just operating at what life throws you, and you wonder how you will find the time to get some down time.
Having down time means you can recharge and breathe in the minute. Well life may give you 30 minutes to yourself it is just that you need to get up ultra early to receive your reward. Welcome to modern living and so many of us are running this exact program.
Only today I was chasing my tail, my little baby is now almost 8 months and for us this means she takes less naps, and she wants more attention and structured play time. Whilst running a business from home and organizing healthy snacks and lunch plus the continual laundry (why did I opt to use cloth nappies, what was I thinking?)
Life will never be the same again. And only later in the day did I realize I hadn’t even taken care of my basic bodily need good gracious!
Time to get organised and prioritise the family and business life. Apart from responding to the important emails from my clients everything else can wait until later in the day, once Alexa is sleeping I can hit the computer with a cup of tea and just do. Ok have 30 minutes to surf the web, read some articles and then write, organize and do some constructive work. No excuses.
That is my plan. No matter how busy you are you can get it done, systematically and stress-free. You just need to be ruthless with your time allocation and stick to your own schedule. If you have allocated 1 hour for a task then work within this guideline. If you need more time on that task think about what comes next and if there is room to push this task to the next time allotment, then do it. Otherwise you will need to reprioritize and just do that activity at the next opportunity. No need to sit on it and think about too much. Time is of essence you know.
We all want to do everything, I get that I think so too, however having said that I know I need to operate at an optimum level so my family and work do not suffer. So this means being kind to yourself and letting go of tasks that can wait. They will be there the next day or weekend. Better yet create a list of those tasks and slowly tackle them over the course of a few weeks. Jump for joy when you have completed a task as you need to acknowledge your efforts. You may feel like a robot but you are not!
I read somewhere lately that those people that think too much about their goals loose the momentum and it may take them longer to achieve them. As opposed to knowing you need to go there and get going.
Action speaks in volumes!
