ASTRAL PROJECTION

Astral projection can be simply described as the ability to leave the physical body. The spirit or the astral body (same thing- 2 names) leaves the physical body and moves into another dimension known as the spirit world or astral plane. Your spirit or astral body remains attached to the physical body through a silver umbilical type cord (etheric cord) and some people have the ability to actually see this cord. The etheric cord has been with you since the time you entered the physical body for the very first time. It CANNOT be cut or severed until you leave this plane for the very last time. It connects to our bodies when we astral travel so that we may come back into our body when we wake up. It happens when the physical body is asleep and the subconscious mind takes over. The subconscious mind contains the spirit or the astral body and often results in falling dreams or waking up with a falling sensation or sudden jerk. Normally this is when you wake up when your spirit is either entering or leaving the physical body. During this time, your physical body simply rests and nothing you can do while astral travelling can harm it.

It is not the same as a Near-Death experience when you would go through a white light or tunnel and it happens when you would leave your body for the last time. When you astral project, you go where you would like to go right away. There is no such thing as time or distance and it is all experienced in the NOW. You are the one who decides where you would like to go.

Many people go to the astral plane to communicate with their guides and teachers. They are able to visit places on the other side of the world and in other dimensions. You can even visit loved ones who are no longer with us on the physical plane.

TYPES OF ASTRAL PROJECTION

ACTUAL ASTRAL PROJECTION is the process where the spirit separates from the physical body while maintaining a level of consciousness. The spirit vibrates at a higher frequency than the physical plane (where we live on a day to day basis) which allows it to travel on the astral plane. The astral plane is sometimes referred to as the Akasha. The Akasha is where all the thoughts, memories, fantasies and dreams of everyone in the world exist. If you have ever heard of the Akashic records which is where everyone’s life plans exist, this is the place you would go. The conscious mind tries to impose a BODY on the astral traveller while actually there isn’t one and can change their form simply by thinking it. You can change your surroundings simply by the power of thought. So basically think yourself somewhere is all you need to do. With this kind of freedom, you can visit countries you have always dreamed of visiting or visit with loved ones who are now in spirit. You can also get to know your guides and learn things from them.

ETHERIC PROJECTION is the most common form of astral projection. It is the result of a conscious effort to separate from the physical body. Unlike astral projection, however, this time the etheric body stays on the physical plane but simply separates from the physical body. This is where you hear the reports of people floating above their body watching themselves sleep. You can also move at speed across rooms, streets, cities and countries on the physical plane. The etheric body operates at a higher frequency as with actual astral projection so this will allow you to move through solid doors and walls. From my own personal experience, I started out by just sticking close to home. I think the farthest I went was the roof of my house! While in actually fact, I could go anywhere! I found myself now going back to the neighbourhood I grew up in as a child. I think this is because I always felt so comfortable there!

So, you may wonder can people actually see you while you are in an astral projection. The answer is it depends- most people cannot see ghosts or spirits, but there are many that can. So if you came in contact with someone who could see beyond the physical realm, the answer is YES they would be able to see you. I know its kind of freaky!

OUT OF BODY EXPERIENCE occurs when a person’s consciousness leaves the body and is often the most commonly reported type of astral projection. It is associated normally with accidents or anaesthesia where a person can watch himself being operated on from the ceiling of the operating room!
