I was enjoying a soy latte at my favourite cafe last week, trying hard to manouevre my already sunburned face out of the hot aussie sun. From the table next to me, I overheard the cute gingerhead girl ask her mum as she pointed to the billboard opposite: 'Hes just not that into you' – Must see, newly released blockbuster movie. 'Mum', she asked, 'What does that mean?' 'Oh honey, its about love' 'Looove - what is love?' she quizzed her mum with that childlike real curiosity. Cute, I thought... Funnily, the Howard Jones lyrics instantly popped into my head – 'what is love anyway, does anybody love anybody anyway .....' Kids have a knack for asking darn great questions dont they?. As I started to think about it more and more I wondered about my own experiences of love, that of my close friends, my parents, remembered what it meant growing up and what it means now as a woman in her 40's. Spirit Guides are people who have passed over into the next life. They have reached a high spiritual level where they are, but still retain an interest in what is going on in the world. They are not like guardian angels who protect us, but are there to help and guide us when we ask for advice. Guides are principally concerned with our spiritual growth and are prepared to help us with it. However, as they want us to be independent and stand on our own two feet, they discourage us from asking for help every time we have a small problem. Is it just me or are there pregnant ladies everywhere? In the city, shopping malls, crossing the street, at cafes even at the swimming pool? This is wonderful to see new life beginning and the ladies displaying their beautiful bellies. Even the clothes they wear are flattering, no longer are they wearing granny tops that look like tents, these soon-to-be mums, have hit the fashion stakes and look fit and healthy. Even the clothes stores have more choices now catering for such Romanesque women. It’s a mine field, and naturally then come the baby clothes and baby things. Don’t get me started on that! Can this be an indicator that the economy is doing well and people are realizing their dreams to have a family because the indicators are there? Steady employment, the mining boom, consumer confidence is high. Life seems to giving us these signals that new life is now welcomed, and thus the abundance.
